I officially opened my wedding season with this amazing wedding at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake. Carol and Nat infused the entire day with beautiful, rustic details and personal touches. I loved how the father of the groom’s ring was a perfect stand-in as Nat’s custom wedding band was delayed in production, the emotional personally written vows, and how the smokehouse bbq buffet was perfect fare to give a nod to Carol’s Texas roots. Carol and Nat were so laid-back and genuine, and as the best man put it in his speech, you instantly feel like you are friends with them. We caught a fiery sunset after the ceremony which made for soft waning light during portraits, and can we talk about how gorgeous Carol’s dress is? Congratulations to my first married couple of 2014, the best is yet to come!
