Emily and Kurt. What a gorgeous wedding–I loved every last detail! Emily’s headpiece was so unique and I loved the gold shoes she chose. The ivory, champagne and subtle tones of the color scheme turned out really nicely. Emily and Kurt love to be outdoors, and the antlers and hand-painted (by the groom!) branches that adorned the reception venue echoed that. Between the ceremony and reception guests had a pre-cocktail hour at the Birchwood Tavern attached to the Double Tree Arlington Heights. It felt like a cozy lodge and was a nice respite from being out in the cold weather for some photos with the wedding party. We then went on to the Metropolis Ballroom for the reception. It was such a joy to take part in the joining of these families. The toasts given by Kurt’s brother and Emily’s sister and father were funny and poignant all at the same time. The food was delicious and the decor was beautiful. Michael from the Metropolis did a wonderful job of keeping everything going smoothly. I had so much fun with this one–thank you again to Emily and Kurt and the Kubas and England families for the honor of documenting your day!
